Overview

Working alongside YMU, we partnered with The Girls Bathroom to develop official merchandise that brought the personality of the podcast into the physical world.

Beginning with merchandise for their UK Tour, we developed a collection of hoodies and T-shirts designed around the brand and its highly engaged community.

Following the success of the tour collection, which sold out almost immediately, the partnership evolved into a second seasonal release: a limited-edition Christmas collection featuring bespoke knitwear and matching accessories.

From product development through to eCommerce and fulfilment, we created merchandise designed to feel like a natural extension of The Girls Bathroom.

Project Statistics

  • UK Tour merchandise sold out almost immediately
  • Multiple collections successfully launched
  • Product offering expanded from apparel into bespoke knitwear and accessories
  • Limited-edition Christmas collection developed
  • End-to-end delivery from product development through to fulfilment

Our RESULTS

The initial UK Tour collection sold out almost immediately, demonstrating strong demand for The Girls Bathroom beyond its core content.

That success provided the foundation to expand the merchandise offering into new product categories and seasonal releases.

The Christmas collection delivered another strong commercial performance, while the introduction of custom-developed products helped elevate the merchandise from branded apparel into a more considered lifestyle offering.

One audience. Multiple moments to connect.

THE CHALLENGE

The Girls Bathroom had already built more than a podcast.

It had created a highly recognisable world and a community with a strong emotional connection to the brand.

The challenge was translating that connection into merchandise without making it feel like conventional podcast merch. The products needed to stand independently as desirable pieces while still feeling instantly familiar to the existing audience.

Following the success of the initial tour collection, we also needed to find new ways to evolve the product offering without simply repeating what had already worked.

Our Solution

We approached the merchandise as an extension of The Girls Bathroom brand, developing products around the moments and occasions where its community would interact with them.

For the UK Tour, we created a focused collection of graphic hoodies and T-shirts, giving audiences an opportunity to take a physical piece of the live experience home with them.

Following the collection's rapid sell-through, we expanded the product strategy beyond tour merchandise.

For Christmas, we developed a limited-edition seasonal collection centred around a custom-designed knitted Christmas jumper and matching socks.

Rather than applying existing graphics to standard products, the collection was designed specifically for the season, allowing The Girls Bathroom to create a new commercial moment while maintaining its established identity.

Acifin Perspective

Great merchandise gives a community something tangible to belong to.

For The Girls Bathroom, the opportunity wasn't simply to put the podcast's identity onto clothing. It was to understand the relationship the audience already had with the brand and create products that could become part of that relationship.

The tour collection captured a moment. Its success created demand for what came next. The Christmas collection then gave the brand an entirely new occasion to engage its audience.

By connecting Product, Creative, eCommerce and Fulfilment, we helped build a merchandise offering capable of evolving alongside the podcast and its community.
